Big Catch

This week’s photo, taken February 24, 2016 from the pier in Edmonds, WA, features a DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT just after it made a big catch.

At first, the hungry bird struggled to swallow its catch. But when another cormorant approached with the intention to steal a meal, the cormorant in the photo instantly found the motivation to toss the entire fish down its throat.
