Bill of Many Colors

IMG_5678

This week’s photo, taken December 2, 2015 from the Edmonds Pier in Edmonds, WA, features an adult male SURF SCOTER.

What bird has a a yellow, orange, red, black and white bill? That would be the adult male SURF SCOTER, a common wintering sea duck in the Puget Sound.

I should have guessed that is what it would be.
Got the visiting Evening Grosbeak yesterday. It visits a feeder about 2 miles from here. Patience was rewarded.
